The Effects of woodstock.
The original Woodstock festival sparked so much attention and was so popular the four founders decided to do it again in 1979. Now every ten years there is a Woodstock festival held in various different places. The festival is obviously not for the same purpose as the original one, but it is still held to show that their is still peace and freedom through the sounds of music. The Woodstock generated many other festivals and concerts as well throughout the years in our own country as well as many others.
Oktoberfest.
One of the many other festivals that evolved because of Woodstock was Oktoberfest. Although Oktoberfest had been previously held in Bavaria since 1810, it was merely a small town festival that took place once a year. After the Woodstock festival it took place in the town of Munich, the festival goes on for about 16 days straight of various drinking games and music. Not only does Oktoberfest take place in Germany, it actually takes place in many states and cities within the US. Now, the US cities don't do the festival for 16 days straight but they do their best to mimic what happens during the Oktoberfest in Germany.
Cultural effects.
After Woodstock ended, the Vietnam War continued, and the role of women in society continued to minimize; people still protested, and mandated free love, the amount of fight within their soul was beginning to decrease. It's as if Woodstock was their ultimate goal, peace, loud music, harmonious living, and a large amount of drugs -- as if they were united in some sort of special way. Once the festival was over everyone had a sense of fulfillment, and it makes sense, they reached what they had been trying to do for so long in a matter of three days. After the Woodstock festival ended it sort of gave all of those hippies the right to live freely and basically do their own thing, and that's exactly what they did. There wasn't very many issues after the festival.
Musical effects.
Woodstock had many negative impacts on the bands and artists that had performed there. The Beatles and Creedence Clearwater Revival broke up soon after the Woodstock festival; now you could say it was Woodstock's fault but the tensions within the two bands were taking a toll on everyone. Also the two most famous artists that played at this event -- Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin -- died from a drug overdose shortly after Woodstock. However, Woodstock helped a lot of artists jump start their career such as Carlos Santana who soon became known as one of the greatest guitar players ever.
