What drew the 500,000 rebellious teens into the largest concert – in the 1900’s?
Music has a large impact on almost everyone in the world. A lot of times people listen to certain music based on their emotions and how they are feeling at that moment. Music brings people together whether it’s at a concert, party, or just some friends hanging out. In 1969, White Lake, New York a farmer gave Michael Lang and his colleagues his land to have one of the greatest concerts in history of mankind – Woodstock. These 500,000 teens were drawn in with the protesting being conducted by loud music that the world would soon here about.
The first Woodstock festival was held during 1969 in White Lake, New York. The original founders were Michael Lang, John P. Roberts, Joel Rosenman, and Artie Kornfeld. Some of the most famous musicians to attend this festival were Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Santana, and Grateful Dead. There were many more of these concerts to come over time, but the original festival will always be known as the best.
The 500,000 person audience was drawn in by the promotions leading up to the event; Promotions such as the artists who signed up for the event, the posters made, the word spread from one peaceful soul to another.
